Glen Raven Custom Fabrics Introducing Sunbrella® Contract During HD Boutique

New Contract Offering Designed to Set New Standards for Hospitality Fabrics

After setting the standard for residential, marine and commercial performance fabrics for the past 46 years, Sunbrella® has set its sights on doing the same for the contract fabrics market. This year’s HD Boutique Exhibition and Conference in Miami will mark the official debut of the Sunbrella Contract line, a new product category of Sunbrella fabrics specifically engineered and styled for contract applications.

“Sunbrella Contract has been in development for the past two years,” said Allen Hawks, Sunbrella Contract Fabrics manager for Glen Raven Custom Fabrics. “Our brand is legendary for its ability to combine styling, comfort and durability all in one fabric. Sunbrella Contract has all of these attributes and more.”

A dedicated development and styling team at Glen Raven used Sunbrella furniture fabrics – leaders in poolside applications for hotels and resorts worldwide – as the starting point for the creation of Sunbrella Contract. Through the development of proprietary processes and styling innovations, the Sunbrella Contract team created a new product that is styled for hotel, resort, restaurant, commercial and retail interiors and meets the rigorous standards of the contract market.

“Our benchmark has always been the standards of the Association of Contract Textiles,” Hawks said. “Sunbrella Contract meets or exceeds the 30,000 double rubs standard as well as other performance tests, such as pilling. Interior designers, specifiers and owners can select Sunbrella Contract with confidence that it is fade resistant, bleach cleanable and durable with colors and styling ideal for commercial interior applications.”

The initial launch of Sunbrella Contract contains more than 100 SKUs, including fabrics woven with chenille and boucle yarns. Adding even more elegance to the collection are Sunbrella jacquards and velvets.

“From a design point of view, one of the greatest benefits in working with Sunbrella fabrics is the ability to coordinate interior and exterior décor,” Hawks said. “This feature opens up the possibility of a totally coordinated look, inside and out.”

Glen Raven anticipates that designers, architects and owners will be drawn to Sunbrella Contract styling and that operations and maintenance personnel will value Sunbrella’s durability and ease of cleaning.

“All Sunbrella Contract fabrics are bleach cleanable, which means that operations staff can keep interior spaces looking fresh and clean for the life of the fabric,” Hawks said.
